Leo Palazzo

Gretna, Louisiana

One of the most aggressive trial attorneys in the country, committed to getting the best results for his clients.

A native New Orleanian, Leo graduated from Holy Cross High School, later obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of New Orleans, and then his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, where he served as the President of the Student Board, Lead Attorney in the American Trial Lawyers Association Trial Competition, and member of the Clinic Program, successfully trying and winning cases on behalf of individuals’ rights.

After graduating from Loyola School of Law, Leo opened the Palazzo Law Firm. Leo is admitted to practice in all state and appellate courts throughout Louisiana, the Federal Western, Middle, and Eastern Districts, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.

Leo has won multi-million-dollar awards for his clients; has successfully obtained acquittals and dismissals in multitudes of criminal proceedings; and has successfully negotiated multiple millions of dollars in contracts negotiations and settlements.

One of the many acknowledgments of Leo’s skills and competence as a lawyer is the fact that most of his clients are referrals from other lawyers. Leo is proud to be considered the “lawyer’s lawyer.”

Leo is actively involved in his community behind the scenes. He loves the outdoors, walking on this earth, hiking in the mountains, fishing, hunting, riding bikes, boating, and all types of outdoor activities and sports. He resides in Belle Chasse with his wife Dana and 12-year-old son, Leonardo. He loves animals, lions, tigers, bears (oh my)…even hyenas.

My aggressive, sincere, and honest reputation in the practice of law has given me a highly-respected reputation in the legal community. I am confident about my abilities to represent my client’s interest. I am viewed as a leader who is personable with excellent communication skills. I am not interested in accolades or plaques. I am interested in results.”  -  Leo J. Palazzo

Areas of Expertise

My areas of expertise are in personal injury and criminal defense. I am fighting for justice for my clients and their families. Helping people in difficult situations gives me personal satisfaction.  My goal is to make my clients feel comfortable, understand all of the possible outcomes, the game plan, and the ongoing status of their case. Making a positive difference in someone’s life is a great accomplishment.

Personal Injury & Litigation

What attracted me to the practice of personal injury law is that I can often assist clients who have suffered harms and losses in getting them justice by helping and fixing their situation through continued medical care and compensation for property damage and lost wages, and replacing things we cannot help and/or fix with a monetary value for those losses.

I have won multi-million-dollar awards for my clients, helped many people get back on the right track in criminal proceedings; and have successfully negotiated multiple millions of dollars in contracts negotiations and settlements.

The practice of trial work is equivalent to going to war. My approach is to attack the case; create a plan; implement the plan; ultimately, be victorious in the outcome.

Criminal Defense

Everyone makes mistakes, but that mistake should not ruin your life. It is this belief that led me to expand my practice to include criminal law.

Leo’s 5-Point Strategy

My approach to the practice of law is to take a difficult situation and turn it around to positive outcome.

  1. Get to know my client
  2. Listen to and understand their situation
  3. Develop an effective plan to help them
  4. Implement the plan
  5. Positively resolve their situation

I enjoy an open relationship with my clients. I encourage them to participate as much as they wish in their case. I enjoy meeting with my clients and speaking with them on a regular basis so that I can answer any questions while working together to achieve a positive outcome in their case.
